Caney Creek

As a tributary to Carroll County’s larger, and more prominently known Whooping Creek, Caney Creek shares many of the same attributes only on a smaller scale: rocky creek bottoms, rippling shoals, sandy flats, steep bluffs covered with mountain laurel and wild azalea, mature hardwoods shading creek-side trails. Remnants of old moonshine stills, artifacts from an earlier time, bear witness to the area’s rugged frontier and agricultural past. Today, this area of Carroll County is better known for timber and cattle production, horse pastures, as well as some of the more scenic home sites found in the west Georgia area. Beautiful Caney Creek on the south, and Harrican Branch on the east provide an abundance of creek frontage on this two parcel tract.

Downtown Carrollton is a quick 10 mile drive; Newnan is 19 miles away. Equestrian enthusiasts are drawn to nearby McIntosh Reserve and its horseback trails along the Chattahoochee River, about a 7 mile drive. 8 miles to the north, eco- based Historic Banning Mills is home to the largest continuous Zip Line Canopy Tour in the world.
