On July 30, 1854, 3 miles southwest of Newnan at the intersection of Old Corinth and Ricketyback (now Millard Farmer) Road, a determined contingent of Confederate cavalrymen led by Major General Joe Wheeler defeated Union forces sent by General Sherman to destroy railroad lines supplying Atlanta. The Battle at Brown’s Mill and the resulting skirmishes netted over 1,250 captured Union soldiers. In order to secure the central portion of the battlefield location for future generations, a portion of the main battle site was sold by Forestar to Coweta County in 2001.

Forestar’s remaining Battlefield Tract lies at the intersection of the Old Ricketyback (Millard Farmer) Road and Old Corinth Road. With over 2000’ of paved road frontage, gently rolling topography, mature timber, and frontage on Sandy Creek, the property has a broad range of potential future options.

Own your own battlefield site; contact Forestar for more information or to arrange an onsite visit.
